Electrocardiogram

Ηλεκτροκαρδιογράφημα

The electrocardiogram is an easy, standard but important test performed by a Cardiologist. It analyzes the electrical activity produced by the heart. When there is suspicion of heart disease, the test is considered valuable in terms of diagnosis. The test is complementary to the clinical examination and is considered useful in the preventive screening of people who are going to participate in sports activities.

Cardiologist Mr. Michalis Hasios, has at his clinic:

  • Latest model of fixed cardiograph MAC5 by General Electric.
  • Portable cardiograph Zoncare iMac 12 for the cardiac monitoring of patients at home.

The electrocardiogram does not depict the entire functional capacity of the heart, but the recording of its electrical energy. In other words, even in a pathological condition of the heart, the electrocardiogram may be normal. Nevertheless, the value of the examination is great, as it contributes to the diagnosis of myocardial ischemia, the diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction, arrhythmias and other pathological conditions.
